We will go through the Learning Activity 1.1 Goals of Psychology together today to insure understanding.

The 4 Goals of Psychology:

  1. Description
  2. Explanation
  3. Prediction
  4. Control

We will also learn about the History of Psychology by viewing a powerpoint and taking notes on the Terms to Know sheet handed out in class today.

Students will complete an assignment about the History of Psychology (due tomorrow if not finished during class).

The Why Study Psychology? assignment is due today.

We will start today’s class learning more about the Bystander Effect that we talked about yesterday. What are your thoughts about this? What would you do? We’ll discuss….

Students will also read about the 4 Goals of Psychology and work on a learning activity related to this topic that will be handed out in class (hand in).

Welcome to Psychology 40S!

I’m Melanie Fenton and I’m teaching your Psychology 40S course that begins today and ends in June.

Use this blog when you’ve missed a class so you can catch up on any work we have done in class. Assignments are not posted here so you have to come to class to get them.
